It was a tough day at the races for the SynOil team in Pomona. In the 3nd qualifying round on Saturday, Ken had an awesome run with a 5.62 ET and 258 MPH which would have put the team in 5th until the chutes did not deploy. This caused Ken and the SynOil racecar to hit the sandtrap, become airbourne and then getting caught in the net. The SynOil racecar did not fair well but thank goodness Ken is ok.

We are back in Vegas! Qualifying began on Friday Oct 30 with Ken running in the first round a 5.661 ET and 254.47 MPH which has put us in 3rd. What a start! The second round wasn't as strong with 7.595 ET and 121.95 MPH. Ken shook the tires off the line and backed off. He had a good run in the first elimination with a 5.662 ET and 253.95 MPH but the car was not strong enough to capture the win. The team is off to Pomona, CA to finish off the NHRA season.
The team is in Indianapolis this weekend and qualifying went really well against these top gun racers on Friday. In round 1, Ken ran a 5.737 ET and 253.61 MPH. Round 2, he ran 5.716 ET and 251.20 MPH which has put him in 12th place.
After a long trip from Minnesota to Billings, the SynOil team arrived safely with a positive attitude and revved things up. Ken ran an outstanding qualifying time with a 5.883 ET and 245.32 MPH which put him in 2nd place going into eliminations. He then went to the finals with a 5.876 ET and 244.78 MPH ... came up just short against Sean O'Bannon due to the tires shook but this puts the SynOil team #11in the world of TAFC! A great performace against the top guns in this Funny Car curcuit, thanks to the endless teamwork from the SynOil crew...as always!
The team arrived safely in Minnesota and started off with a bang on Friday with Ken qualifiying 5th overall with a 5.772 ET and 250.46 MPH after the first two runs. The last qualifying round should have continued on Saturday but the race was rained out so 5th is where Ken will place on Sunday. The 1st round of eliminations was awesome with a run of 6.208 ET and 250.46 MPH but in 2nd round, the engine blew and the team tried in vain to have the car ready but to no avail. The SynOil team is heading to Billings, Montana for the Aug. 21 - 23 race with great anticipation.
We had a minor issue with the fuel line on the car prior to qualifying but the SynOil team, as usual, came through. Ken ran a 5.81 ET and 247 MPH. On his final pass, he slowed early due to the track beginning to get slick. The team is off to Minnesota for the August 14 - 16 race and then to Billings, Montana. It's going to be great back to back racing!
The team had a good run over the weekend but the car had some electrical issues which prevented us from going past the first round. The issue has been repaired for the upcoming race in Edmonton AB. on August 12.
The team is also thrilled we took over 1st place in Division 6 on July 9-10 at Woodburn, Oregon. Ken made it to the semi-finals on Sunday and he had the race won...until the blower belt broke. The team is heading back to Seattle on July 16-17 with plans to get closer to being the Best in the World!
Webster is the man! Cut three great lights on raceday and drove good enough to win but unfortunately the car didn't perform in the final round as we fell short to Roger Bateman. The team will now head back down South to battle for the Division points chase this weekend in Oregon on July 10 - 12, 2009.

We had a great weekend at this divisional race finishing in the semi-finals. In the first round, Ken ran 5.668 ET and 256.89 MPH and in the semi-finals he ran 5.665 ET and 254.57 MPH. We are heading back to Canada for the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton July 3 - 5, 2009.
AND THE SYNOIL RACING TEAM TAKES THE WIN!
WIN...WIN...WIN for the SynOil Racing Team in Spokane with Ken qualifying 1st place overall with a time of 5.748 and a speed of 252.05mph on Saturday. We set the record in Spokane for ET and MPH for Top Alcohol Funny Cars! In the 1st eliminations on Sunday, Ken won the round with a 5.740 and 252.90mph. He takes the 2nd elimination round with a 5.728 and 252.19mph. The winning results were 7.574 and 126.32mph as he knew he had the win so he slowed early. The car is running to perfection thanks to the SynOil crew and we are anticipating another awesome race in Seattle, WA on June 19-21, 2009.

IN THE NEWS...
In Top Alcohol Funny Car, Alberta's Ken Webster driver of the SynOil Monte Carlo owned by Geoff Goodwin had a ride he would like to forget. In the first qualifier, Webster banged the blower so hard it blew the body off the car at half track and it shattered into a bunch of unusable pieces. Again Bob Johnson captured the awesome image. Webster was unhurt, but the team could not make repairs in time for the final qualifier.
